A few Call of Duty: Blacks Ops 2 multiplayer details may have been leaked via a thread on Activision’s forums, which was later taken down by the publisher. Keep in mind that posts like this show up for a lot of games, claiming details that are later proven false, but until Activision comes along and tells us otherwise, it’s fun to speculate, right?
When Eric Hirshberg, CEO of Activision Publishing originally spoke on Black Ops 2, he said, “This year we expect to further expand our presence with the launch of an all-new epic first-person shooter title under the Call of Duty brand. From what we’ve seen to date, the game already looks fantastic and will bring meaningful innovations to the franchise.”
The most important information we found while scouring the post was the Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 release date. According to the post, the first-person-shooter has an expected release date of November 6, 2012. There will be a new multiplayer game mode, Escort, and Kill Confirmed from Modern Warfare 3 will make a return.

Apple will release a new version of the iPad on March 16, it said today at a press conference in San Francisco. Our sister site Gizmodo is liveblogging details on the new tablet, which will use Apple’s high-definition Retina Display and feature 2048x1536 resolution.
Excited for Halo 4 like we are? Halo has been apart of the Xbox success from day one. Ever since Halo 3 ended, fans have been clamoring to see Master Chief return to the series and that’s what fans are getting with this latest installment.
I got my first look at Halo 4 at the Xbox 360 Spring Showcase and as a long time fan of the series; I was instantly blown away with the visual improvements that 343 made to the franchise. The lightening is the biggest showcase of that with environments are brought to life with the new engine 343 have designed. The environmental improvements are highly superior to the original games.

Fans first got to see Master Chief return to the saga when Microsoft showcased the Halo 4 trailer at the end of their of E3 press conference. While it was instantly breathtaking for fans, long time fans brought up a number of issues. The first is a slight change in Master Chief appearance, most notably was a missing cod piece armor. While it was missing, unlike previous E3 launch trailers, that footage wasn’t in game footage built around the current Halo 4 engine that 343 is using. Thankfully, Master Chief will have everything in order when the game is released, but this is by the best rendition of Master Chief to date.

It’s been five years since we last saw Master Chief “finish the fight” and defeat the covenant. With Halo 4 beginning a new trilogy, fans of the franchise will return to the beloved franchise, but Halo 4 offers the best chance for new comers to be introduced to the franchise. The graphical paroles will be great entry point for fans to be swept up in the storm that is Halo when it eventually hits store shelves.
Choosing maps.
Maps are determined by the Referee.
Referee should use a random way to choose the maps.
(Example: I closed my eyes, scrolled down the list and stopped at random for the Noob vs Unstoppable match. Did it for all 3 maps worked fine.) Use this method or come up with your own.
Choosing which team gets to choose which side first.
Example: Refs just pick a number 1-10 and let the team captains guess 1 number, whichever is closer without going over wins. The team that didn’t win gets to choose there side for the second map, winning team gets to choose side for 3rd map, simple. Use this method or come up with your own.
Referees are Council members or Underbosses.

Apple fans are eagerly awaiting next week’s announcement about the iPad 3. We’ve previously reported that the new device is widely rumored to have an upgraded “retina display,” vastly improving the resolution which, in turn, makes apps and games look better. But reading about resolutions is one…

The PlayStation 4 will not use Sony’s Cell processor nor any possible successor to the vaunted chipset that was introduced to the world through the PlayStation 3, gaming industry sources tell Kotaku.
What we’re hearing from sources follow a Forbes rumor last week that chip-maker AMD would make the graphics chip for a PS4, a shift from the PS3’s use of a graphics chip from AMD rival Nvidia.
The abandonment of the Cell architecture would thrill the many game developers who have struggled with the complex chipset, but it could also be viewed as the admission of a mistake.
Cell was the pet project of PlayStation creator Ken Kutaragi, who dreamed that the chip—a “Power Processing Element” married to eight “Synergistic Processing Elements”—would make the PS3 the most impressive gaming console ever. He spoke of a home equipped with multiple devices that were powered by Cell, all of them linking to each other to increase the computational power driving any of the devices.
Cell was not the revolution Sony hoped and hyped that it would be. It also never managed to make the PS3 appear to be significantly more powerful than the year-older Xbox 360. That could have been the Cell’s fault or simply the result of development decisions that compelled game creators to make their games run on both the PS3 and the generally-more-popular Xbox 360.
But with no Cell or Cell successor in the PS4, what would Sony do? Here’s where the reporting turns to speculation. One theory I’ve heard is that AMD will provide both the CPU and GPU for the PS4, meaning that AMD, not Sony, would engineer the main processing and graphics chips for the machine. Should AMD be doing that, they could go with the AMD Fusion architecture, which puts CPU and GPU on the same chip. AMD has already been putting chips like this out (one was considered for the MacBook Air), which would enable Sony to turn to developers and say: you could be working with the PS4 architecture right now; just work on an AMD Llano chip or something. Would developers like that? They’d have to prefer it to Cell and—what do you know—here’s one of gaming history’s best programmers, id’s John Carmack, saying in an interview with PC Perspective last year that AMD Fusion-style chip architecture is “almost a forgone conclusion” for the future of computing.
A Sony rep declined to comment on this story, citing the company’s policy not to comment on rumors and speculation.
Sony hasn’t even acknowledged the existence of the PlayStation 4 let alone detailed the guts within it. But we’re beginning to hear trickles of information about Sony’s next gen. It’s all vaguer than the talk for next Xbox, code-named Durango, which Microsoft has been showing to publisher and developer partners.
The lack of chatter on PS4 would suggest that Sony will once again put its next console out after Microsoft. But if the chipset for the PS4 is actually one that already exists, then aspiring PS4 developers might find themselves capable of ramping up for this new machine faster than expected. And if that happens, the code-named Durango, probable for 2013, might have a sparring partner from Sony sooner than we thought.
